Earlier this year, Refuge4Pets supporter Cheryl took on a truly unique charity challenge.
After a tricky start – she was due to fly from Heathrow on the very day when all flights were stopped due to a major power outage – Cheryl eventually reached her destination: Sweden. There, she spent an unforgettable week sledding over 220km with a team of huskies.
Reflecting on her experience, Cheryl said:
“My charity challenge trip was amazing! An experience I will never forget and I’ve now got the bug for dog sledding!
After a tricky start, where Heathrow stopped all flights the day I was flying, I arrived two days late. However, it didn’t stop me from completing the challenge.
We sled over 220km across icy lakes, wilderness, and valleys, camped out in wilderness camps, cooked over fires, tended our dogs and saw the spectacular Northern Lights.
In total, I raised £935 for Refuge4Pets. Thank you so much to you all for supporting me.”
A huge thank you to Cheryl for her incredible effort and thank you to everyone who contributed.
